LOIFKO

Laboratory for Clothing Engineering, Physiology and Garment Construction

The core activities of the laboratory are educational and research activities. Research is an important and visible part of the activities. From a thematic perspective connects the complex field of interrelated topics, such as:

The Mechanics of textiles, which covers research into elastic deformations, viscoelastic behaviour of textile structures, complex deformations of textile structures, and objective evaluation of the clothing appearance quality.

Engineering design, which is focuses on the area of development and design of functional and intelligent clothing, and study of loading acting on clothing during motion from the aspect kinesiology.

Development of innovative textile products, based on innovative design, corporate identity and multi-functionality of the product.

Ergonomics of the thermal environment that is focuses on human thermal physiology, based on studying complex aspects of the thermal characteristics of clothing system, thermal insulation performances of clothing in a cool environment, physiological responses of human body and assessment of thermal stress in a hot environment, wearing comfort, and biomechanical measurements.
